At SM America, we strive to ensure that every product you receive meets your expectations. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, our Return & Refund Policy outlines how to request a return or replacement in accordance with our terms.

1. Eligibility for Returns

We accept returns under the following conditions:

  • The item was purchased directly from www.smamerica.com
  • The return request is made within 30 calendar days of delivery.
  • The product is unused, in its original packaging, and includes all accessories, manuals, and labels.
  • A valid invoice number or order ID must be provided.

Items that have been installed, modified, damaged, or used in operation are not eligible for return unless proven defective upon receipt.

2. Non-Returnable Items

Certain products cannot be returned, including:

  • Custom-made, special-order, or non-stock items.
  • Electrical or electronic components that have been opened or connected.
  • Consumables (e.g., lubricants, filters, adhesives) once opened.
  • Clearance, “final sale,” or discontinued items.

Please confirm return eligibility before shipping any items back to us.

3. Return Authorization (RMA) Process

All returns require an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.

To request one:

  1. Email webinquiries@smamerica.com
  2. with your order number, item(s), and reason for return.
  3. Our team will review your request and issue an RMA number if approved.
  4. Clearly mark the RMA number on the return package.
  5. Ship the item to the address provided in your RMA instructions.

⚠️ Unauthorized or unmarked returns may be refused.

4. Return Shipping

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs, unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect due to our error.
  • We recommend using a trackable shipping method.
  • SM America is not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.

5. Restocking Fee

A restocking fee of up to 25% may apply to certain returned products — particularly special-order items, non-stock parts, or products requiring manufacturer return handling.

Applicable fees will be disclosed during the RMA process and deducted from the refund amount.

6. Inspection and Approval

Once your return is received, it will be inspected.

Approval will depend on:

  • Product condition, packaging, and completeness
  • Verification of defect or error (if applicable)

You will receive a confirmation email once the return is processed.

7. Refunds

If approved, refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 7–10 business days after inspection.

Shipping charges are non-refundable, except when the return is due to our error.

If your item was paid via purchase order or credit account, the refund will be applied as a credit memo toward future purchases.

8. Replacements and Exchanges

If an item is defective or incorrect, we may offer a replacement or exchange instead of a refund.

Please mention your preference when submitting your RMA request.

9. Warranty Claims

Some products are covered by manufacturer warranties.

Warranty claims may require direct communication with the manufacturer or additional documentation.
